SOUL

SOUL is a society of lawyers advising Australia's universities and their related organisations.

SOUL's mandate is to promote the exchange of information on legal matters affecting universities and tertiary education generally.

SOUL hosts an annual conference exploring a wide range of legal issues affecting universities including:  discrimination law, compliance & governance, intellectual property commercialisation, student misconduct and student rights, negotiating with IT vendors, public private partnerships, research governance, international ventures, defamation and dispute resolution.  The conference attracts national and international speakers and participation from the public and private sector.

SOUL members maintain active regional chapters around the country and host regular meetings of SOUL regional members.

This web site has been established to support SOUL members and members of the public interested in legal issues affecting higher education and research.
