In an environment of heightened public scrutiny of the sector, universities face growing legal and reputational risks from procurement processes. University lawyers play a critical role, often in collaboration with procurement and other university professional colleagues, in achieving enduring value-for-money outcomes in a defensible manner.
In this seminar chaired by SOUL Director Jessica Boyd, Senior Legal Counsel, The University of Western Australia, Sparke Helmore Partner Simon Lewis and Senior Associate Anthony Brzoska will discuss key legal and practical issues in tendering, contract negotiation and contract management, seeking to:
raise awareness of key legal process and integrity risks in tendering
improve negotiation outcomes through better planning and communication, and
enhance confidence in advising on contract management and enforcement issues.
Jessica will facilitate a Q&A session with the presenters.
Session attendees will be eligible for 1 CPD point in Substantive Law.
Members will need to login and join the 'Events' Group to access the post for more information and to obtain the link to RSVP - please note the event is intended for SOUL members only.
